Internship at the Museum of the American Piano
We are looking for students interested in Marketing. Graduate
students are welcome to apply. Taking
this internship with the Museum will provide the person with real time
experience to set up, build, organize and run a self- sustained concept from
the beginning. The Intern will have the necessary equipment to implement the
plan: computer, fast Internet access and personnel support. One will have the
opportunity to learn principles and apply them from the start in a real life
situation.
*Duties: Develop a Piano recycling program at the Museum

Gather evidence of
pianos being discarded (sanitation departments, Piano Dealers, Schools) through
personal interviews and picture searches.

Find solutions for
moving and storing these pianos.
·
Develop use for
non-restorable Pianos (wood and other parts).
·
Publicize this event.
·
Implement the
restoration of usable pianos
·
Evaluate the result
*Working hours: 4 hours/ day, 3 –5 days a week. Flexible time
*Compensation: the Museum offers to pay for local transportation and a
modest stipend. Successfully running a
project can lead to employment at the Museum.
*Location of the Museum: corner of Broadway and Reade Street (1 block north
of Chambers street). The following subway stations are within a short walk:
City Hall: N and R
Chambers Street: 1, 2, 3, 9, A, C and E
Brooklyn Bridge: J, M, Z, 4, 5, and 6
