Internship at the Museum of the American Piano

 

We are looking for students who are interested in Arts Management. Taking this internship with the Museum will provide the person with real time experience to set up, build, organize and run a self- sustained concept from the beginning. The internship person will have the necessary equipment to implement the plan: computer, fast Internet access and personnel support. One will have the opportunity to learn principles and apply from the start in a real life situation.

 

The Project: Data gathering and application development for piano-related events

 that took place in the late 18th and 19th Century

 

§         Research Piano related events for every month of the year 200, 150, 100 years ago that took place in New York, London, Paris and Vienna.

§         Develop areas where data could be used to in conjunction with present day activities in piano related events

*Working hours: 4 hours/ day, 3 –5 days a week. Flexible time

*Compensation: the Museum offers to pay for transportation and a modest stipend.

Successfully running a project can lead to employment at the Museum.  

 

*Location of the Museum:  at the corner of Broadway and Reade Street (1 block north of Chambers street).  The following subway stations are within a short walk:

  City Hall: N and R

  Chambers Street: 1, 2, 3, 9, A, C and E

  Brooklyn Bridge: J, M, Z, 4, 5, and 6
